Charles H. Webb

Sep 15, 1940 — Oct 10, 2026

Boise, Idaho

Charles H. Webb, 86, of Boise, Idaho, passed away on October 10, 2026, leaving behind a remarkable legacy of service, dedication, faith, and love for his family.

Born September 15, 1940, in Eureka, Kansas, to James and Freda Webb, Charles grew up in Wichita and graduated from Southeast High School in 1958. He enlisted in the United States Navy in 1959, serving aboard the USS Coral Sea (CVA-43), where he worked on classified weapons systems during the Vietnam War.

Following his military service, Charles attended Wichita State University, where he met Jessie Kessler. They married on July 6, 1963, and raised three children: Shawn, Erin, and Jason.

Charles enjoyed a distinguished and diverse professional career. After working for Xerox, Learjet, Cessna, and Boeing, he pursued a career in law enforcement, serving with the Wichita and Bellevue Police Departments. He retired in 1990 as a Lieutenant after 21 years of service. A lifelong learner, Charles earned a bachelor's degree in psychology and a master's degree in public administration from Seattle University before earning his Juris Doctorate from the University of Idaho in 1993. After passing the bar examinations in both Washington and Idaho, Charles established his own law practices in Clarkston, Washington, and Lewiston, Idaho, where he practiced family law and served as a public defender for Asotin and Lewis Counties.

In 2006, Charles and Jessie relocated to Boise, Idaho, where he served as human resources director and legal counsel for the family business until his retirement in 2023.

A devoted Christian, Master Mason, and Shriner, Charles dedicated much of his life to serving others through his professional work, charitable involvement, and community leadership. He was also a talented artist whose creativity and curiosity reflected his lifelong passion for learning.

Charles was a remarkably stoic man, possessing a quiet strength and an incredible sense of humor that could bring laughter even in difficult times. He had a way of putting life's challenges into perspective and never allowed those he loved to linger too long in their pain or disappointment. His familiar words, "This too shall pass," were more than just a saying—they reflected his approach to life and became a source of strength and reassurance for his family. They are words we continue to live by today.

Above all, Charles cherished his family. He was a devoted husband to Jessie, a loving father to Shawn, Erin, and Jason, a proud grandfather to Garand, Taylor, Reagan, Colton, Brady, and Morgan, and a great-grandfather to Stevie. Charles is also survived by his brother, David, his sister-in-law, Eve, and their children.

Charles will be remembered for his integrity, intellect, generosity, unwavering commitment to his family, and lifetime of service to others. His legacy will live on through the many lives he touched and the family he loved so dearly.
