Charles “Chuck” Augustine
Charles “Chuck ” Augustine, age 86 of Sand Hollow, ID passed away peacefully at home with family by his side on July 30, 2024.
Chuck was born on December 18, 1937, to his parents Charles & Maude Augustine, in the small town of Connellsville, PA. He was the youngest of 4 children. His older sisters being Geraldine, Jean and Millie.
He would share many stories of his childhood growing up in that area, such as hitchhiking to “town”, to the local movie theater.
Chuck enlisted in the Navy after high school, and during this time wrote to his future wife Patricia “Pat”. They were married shortly before he was discharged from the Navy. They began their married life in California where their sons Clayton and Clinton were born. They moved to Detroit, Michigan later and welcomed their 3rd son, Cameron. They were there for a period of time before moving to Idaho, where they truly felt like they were ” home “. Here they welcomed their 4th son, Carson. Together with their sons, they turned their bare property into a home.
Chuck was a hard worker, learning the sheet metal trade while in the Navy, and continuing this career through his life. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and camping with his wife, children and grandchildren.
He also enjoyed attending and watching BSU football games with his family.
As a follower of Jehovah’s Witnesses, his faith helped him overcome many trials, including the death of his beloved wife, Pat in December of 1999 ( after 42 years of marriage) He looked forward to the time in the future when all sickness death and pain would be eliminated (Revelation 21: 1-4) which gave him a hope of a resurrection to an everlasting life on a paradise Earth.
Chuck was preceded in death by his parents Charles & Maude, sisters Jean, Geraldine & Millie. His wife Pat, son Clayton & grandson Chad.
He will be missed by surviving family, Children: Clint & his wife Terry, Cameron & his wife Jana, Carson & his wife Jenessa. Daughter in law Denise Augustine
Grandchildren: Chelsea (Matt) Tuftedal, Clayton Augustine, Brontë (Austén) Glassburn, Jasmine Augustine, Charlie Augustine, Tori Augustine
Great grandson: Jonathan Glassburn
