Charles “Chuck” Pearce passed peacefully in his home on August 19, 2021 at the age of 86.
Chuck was born in Yazoo City, Mississippi on Nov 8, 1934 to Edward and Melissa Pearce where he grew up through his teenage years. He then moved to Emmett, Idaho where he quickly landed a job at F.H. Hogue. Shortly afterwards, he met Dorothy Bright and convinced her (that was a hard job too) to marry him in 1955. Soon thereafter, he started at the Ford Garage and then was hired at the Boise Cascade Emmett Mill in 1956 where he retired after 40 years. During this time, he served actively for 7 years in the Army National Guard and then 2 more years active reserve.
Chuck was a dedicated member of the First Baptist Church and was baptized in 1967. He served as a Diaconate Board member for 30 years and always helped out where needed, especially using his handyman and carpentry skills. Chuck played bass fiddle and guitar in a band in the late 1950’s and enjoyed “real” country music, “not this new country, as you kids call it.” Chuck’s hobbies included woodworking, gardening, hunting, camping, music, and reading, especially westerns – lots of them! His greatest joys were his faith and family.
Chucks’ memory will be cherished by his wife, Dorothy; two sons, Mitch (Dawn) Pearce and Brent (Carol) Pearce; grandchildren: Camron, Chris, Laura, Breanna, Rachel, Sarah and four great grandchildren. Chuck was predeceased by his parents and siblings (Ed, Frank, Lula, Elizabeth).
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 28 th at the First Baptist Church, 126 S Hayes Ave, Emmett, ID at 11:00am. In lieu of flowers, the family prefers donations to be made to St Jude’s Children’s Hospital or the Emmett First Baptist Church in Chuck’s memory.
