Chad Zimri Coleman
Chad Zimri Coleman, 48, of Boise, Idaho, passed away on July 4, 2025. Born on April 19, 1977, in Boise, Chad lived a vibrant and adventurous life defined by resilience, kindness, and an unwavering commitment to uplifting others.
A 1995 graduate of Boise High School, Chad was a standout athlete, earning all-conference honors in baseball and football. His zeal for adventure carried him to the slopes as an accomplished competitive freestyle skier. He went on to earn a BA in Business from the University of Utah in 2000, where he was also chapter president of the Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity. He later earned an additional degree in Landscape Architecture from the University of Idaho in 2010.
In April 2006, Chad’s life changed profoundly when a ski accident left him as a paraplegic. Despite this life-altering setback, Chad refused to let his injury define him or stop him from impacting others. With remarkable determination, he continued to inspire and coach kids in skiing, baseball, umpiring, tennis and with the Idaho Youth Adaptive Sports Camp. In 2018, he was inducted into the East Boise Youth Baseball and Softball Hall of Fame for his countless volunteer hours and positive impact he made on the many families he interacted with.
As a wheelchair tennis player, sit-skier and duck hunter, Chad embraced new ways to stay active, showcasing his unyielding spirit. Chad cherished time in nature. He loved to spend time at the family cabin in Donnelly and the family farm in Notus with his extended family and friends.
Known for his radiant smile and positive outlook, Chad had a unique ability to make everyone feel special. Chad’s faith and commitment in Jesus shone through his boundless kindness and unwavering devotion to friends and family, leaving a lasting legacy in the hearts of all who knew him.
Chad is survived by his parents, Phil and Delynn Coleman; his brother and sister-in-law, Aaron and Barb Coleman; his nephew, Jackson Coleman; his niece, Kellyanne Coleman; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, August 1, 2025, at 10:30 am at Eastwind Community Church, 4750 S. Surprise Way, Boise, ID 83716. A reception will follow immediately after on the back lawn of the church. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Idaho Youth Adaptive Sports Camp, a cause close to Chad’s
heart. Please call Boise City Recreation at 208-608-7687 and specify that the donation is to the Youth Adaptive Sports Camp in memory of Chad Coleman.
Chad’s light will continue to shine through the countless lives he touched with his courage, warmth, and generosity.
