Carol A. Whale

August 7, 1952 — March 14, 2026

Boise

Carol Ann Whale, 73, passed away peacefully on March 14, 2026. She was born on August 7, 1952, and lived a life filled with faith, resilience, and love for her family.

Carol grew up in Ogden, Utah, and later made her home in Boise, Idaho. Early in her career, she worked as a nurse’s aide, where her natural compassion and caring spirit touched the lives of many. She was a devoted believer in her Savior, Jesus Christ, and her faith remained a guiding light throughout her life.

On March 4, 1981, Carol married the love of her life, Tony Whale. Together they built a life rooted in devotion, laughter, and enduring partnership.

Carol found joy in life’s simple pleasures—sunny days, the stirring sound of bagpipe music, and sharing moments of humor with those she loved. She had a playful and warm spirit, and anyone who spoke with her on the phone will always remember how she lovingly ended every call with her signature “Night Night.”

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, George and Stella Phelps, and Harry and Lola Edson; her parents, Charles and Arlene Edson; and her sister, Lori Edson.

Carol is survived by her husband, Tony Whale; her son, George Tracy; her sister, Diane (Whit) Short-Freund; and her brothers, Chuck Edson and Roger (Lisa) Edson. She also leaves behind many extended family members and friends who will cherish her memory.

Carol will be deeply missed and forever remembered for her faith, her kindness, and the love she gave so freely.

A memorial service in her honor will be held 5:00 pm, Friday, March 20, 2026 at The Church of Jesus Christ Latter-day Saints, 2680 Hill Rd, Boise, ID 83702.

All who knew and loved her are welcome to attend and celebrate her life.
