Carol Taysom House

Carol was born in 1937, the 5 th of 6 children born to Dave and Clara Taysom, and she grew up on a farm on the edge of a very small town. She was an adventurous, happy little child roaming around the farm, checking out the rabbit enclosure and kittens in the barn. She once dressed a kitten in doll clothes and a bonnet.

She remembers crawling across the cattle guard to visit a neighbor who invited her in and gave her jelly beans and a birthday card. And then she had to go to school. She did finally feel comfortable at school and was a good student. With no money for college, the day after graduation she moved to Boise to find work. She spent most of her working years with United Pacific Reliance in the Bond Department.

She married her sweetheart Ron House in 1959. They enjoyed raising their 3 children and preferred the simple life. They liked to take auto trips together to visit relatives and see the country and were happily married until Ron’s passing in 2016.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, all of her siblings: David (Isabelle), Lurene (Colburn), Elaine (Bob), Elona (Junior), Von; her lovely daughter-in-law Aranya, her niece Lawanna, too many friends, and all but 4 of her many cousins.

She is survived by her children Gary, Kristina, Kendall (Tammy); her grandchildren Melissa, Zach (Karen), Ron (Adriana), Joseph, Sarah; and a great grandchild, Frances; 2 sisters-in-laws Kathleen Taysom and Myrna Schumaker; and many nieces and nephews.

A private graveside service will be held.

Arrangements are under the direction of Bowman Funeral Parlor of Garden City.
