In loving memory we share the passing of Carol Louise Duncan, on Saturday, May 31st, 2025 at the age of 94.
Born Nov 16, 1930, in Chicago, Illinois, she lived life with integrity, generosity, humor, faith, healthy living and a strong work ethic. Carol’s belief in Christ was her strength giving her peace and a heart to serve others.
Carol was a wife, mother, grandmother, and pillar of her community. She taught us the value of strong principles like hard work, compassion and resilience.
She is survived by her sons, Alan Gross and wife Rebecca, Randall Gross and wife Deborah, 4 grandchildren, and 14 great-grandchildren. Carol was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Duncan and daughter, Deborah Wright.
Carol was the Postmaster in Sweet for the last 39 years, starting in 1985. She faithfully served the community where she had made her home. Carol credited her love for her job and her community as part of the reason for a long and healthy life, saying “it’s what I do. It’s who I am.” She pursued her independence and continued living in Sweet with the support of the community she loved.
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, July 8th at 10 am at the Idaho Veteran’s Cemetery.
