Burl Tolman age 84 passed away on October 21, 2023.  He was born in Oakley, Idaho, the first of 8 children.  He was with his wife Lola and all of his church brethren when he passed.  His church family and God was a very important part of his life and he loved them all dearly.

He was a busy man, wonderful father and a great friend to many people.  He touched many lives in his time with us.

He enjoyed fishing, hunting, metal detecting, leather work and wood working.  He was a super diesel mechanic, working on semi-trucks.  He retired from Cummins Intermountain in Boise, Idaho after 27 years

He served in the Army and was stationed in Kentucky.

He was married to his wife Lola Tolman (Darrow) for 60 years. He was a wonderful husband, true and faithful all those years.  He is survived by his wife Lola of Boise, Idaho, sons Ernest Milton Tolman II (Ruth) of Nampa, Idaho, George Leonard Tolman (Yvonne) of Caldwell, Idaho, a daughter Michelle Faith Greenwood of Boise, Idaho.  One brother Roger Daniel Tolman (Chrissy) of Medical Lake, Washington, sisters Patricia Lorraine Tolman of Lacey, Washington, Millie Lee Lammers and Laura Moe both of Washington and Jan Silliman of Donnely, Idaho.  Thirteen grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.  He loved them all dearly.

He was preceded in death by his father Ernest Milton Tolman, his mother Edith Helen Tolman (Dunn), brothers Jerry Dean Tolman (Carolyn) of Oklahoma, John Owen Tolman (Ellie) of Rupert, Idaho and David Alan Tolman of Boise, Idaho.  Burl and Lola’s son Theodore Austin Tolman of Eugene, Oregon.

A big thank you to the St Luke’s Hospice group especially DeAnne, Anna and Craig.  They were a big help to all of us.  A wonderful group to have helping us.

Burl always claimed he was born a hundred years too late.  He loved the old-time things and the life style they lived back then.

He wished to be cremated and have his ashes spread in the mountains.  We will have a memorial service sometime in the spring.
