A Life Filled with Love and Laughter

Braxton Lee Steinburg, age 28, passed away in Meridian, Idaho.  He was a man who embodied joy, leaving an indelible mark on every heart he touched.  Braxton’s life was a beacon of love, kindness, and laughter, and the ache of his absence will be felt deeply by all who knew him.

Braxton was the devoted husband of Stella (Bowers) Steinburg, and the beloved father of Astrid Grace (5) and August Oakley (3), who were the light of his life.  His parents, Rick and Wendy Steinburg, his grandparents Daniel and Joanne Tucker, and his siblings Carissa (Jared) Crain, Emily (Dean) Irby.  Bryce (Calli) Steinburg, and Lauren (Antonio) D’Brot will carry forward his memory.  He also leaves behind a host of adoring nieces and nephews: Xander and Tucker Crain; Aiden, Logan, and Ricky Irby; Dani-Lee, Billie, and Channing Steinburg; and Zion D’Brot.  He is now reunited with his Grandma Judy Lloyd, Grandpa Jack Wrigley and Uncle Jared Tucker.

As a young child Braxton was inquisitive, thought deeply about things, and looked at the world in his own way.  He loved collecting coins, and Dad would put his change around the house for him to find.  He understood money and could make correct change before he even started school!  He enjoyed Pokemon cards, Legos, and having Power Ranger sword fights with his brother.  Once they couldn’t find the swords and decided to use long kitchen knives until mom stopped them.

He loved spending time with his siblings and cousins.  He loved climbing and would shimmy up the thick, round columns in our dining room regularly.  One time with the older neighborhood boys cheering him on, he even climbed to the top of the street light pole in front of the house.  Mom calmly coaxed him down and then yelled “Don’t you EVER do that again!” and chewed out the older neighborhood boys that had stood around watching and cheering “Go Braxton, Go!”

Braxton attended High School at Rocky Mountain High and enjoyed singing in the choir, playing on the tennis team, and running cross country with his friends.  Braxton connected with God through music, and always found the perfect song for how he was feeling.  He married Stella Grace Bowers in on May 11, 2019, and was blessed with two wonderful children, Astrid and August.  He loved time with family and trips to the Oregon Coast.  Braxton worked hard to provide and had a gift with numbers and financial intelligence.  When the demands of life weighed on him, and he came home after a long day, his children’s squeals of delight lit up his world.  Astrid misses Daddy tickles, going out for treats, and brushing his hair with her princess brush.  August missed getting chased around the house, going to the park, dance parties, and playing with Daddy’s beard.  We ALL will miss Braxton’s quirky sense of humor, afternoons of disc golf, movies at OPC, and Chick-Fil-A lunches.

To know Braxton was to love him.  His kindness was unparalleled.  He saw the good in people and made them feel seen in return.  His infectious laughter could brighten even the darkest of days, and his delight in the simplest moments reminded us all to find joy wherever we could.

We honor his legacy by sharing the same kindness, grace, and humor that he so effortlessly gave to the world.

Braxton, you were loved by all because you loved so well.  You changed our lives for the better, and though we ache for your presence, we rejoice in the knowledge that you are now wrapped in the arms of God’s infinite love.  Until we meet again.

Thank you for the outpouring of love and support from all of you.

A memorial service will be held, 11:00 am, Saturday, November 23, 2024 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 215 3rd Ave. W, Marsing, Idaho.
