Billy Ray Longden

It is with sadness that we share the passing of our beloved father.

Billy Ray Longden, 87, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on July 26th, 2024.

He was a man of immense humor and wisdom, cherishing every moment spent with his loved ones. We are so thankful for his guidance, support, and unwavering love.

He was our hero.

He was born and raised in West Virginia, 5th of 14 brothers and sisters. He had many wonderful stories of his childhood. At age 17 he enlisted into the Airforce and served four years. While stationed at Mountain Home Air Force Base, he met the love of his life, our mom, Carol Anne Weeks. They were happily wed for 66 years and had three children- LaRae, Rocky, and Pam.

He started his own electrical company, AA Electric, and worked most of his life in the Boise area. When Rocky was old enough, he taught him the trade and they worked together for many years.

Bill and Carol were blessed with 33 grand, great, and great-great grandchildren. He always made time for them, whether it be helping and teaching them about cars or playing beauty parlor with a new do of pigtails and pink nails. He was loved by them all.

Bill in his younger days loved to hunt, camp, and go jeeping with the family. He loved to garden and do home projects. He was a member of Jehovah Witness West Congregation.

He is survived by his children LaRae (John), Rocky, Pam (Troy), 33 grandchildren, 2 sisters Jane and Ginger and brother Kenny.

He is preceeded in death by his wife Carol Longden, his parents William and Pearl Longden, 7 brothers- Herbert, Gene, Dale, Tom, Johnny, Butch and Bobby, 3 sisters- Karen, Connie, and JoAnn.

We would like to thank his cancer doctor Leila Khaddour and team at Saint Alphonsus Cancer Institute and his caregivers from Keystone hospice- Tom, Rachel, and Crystal for their care and compassion.

He will be forever loved and missed by his family and friends.

Arrangements are under the direction of Bowman Funeral Parlor of Garden City.
