Betty Ann Dibble

August 1, 1947 — May 23, 2026

Boise

Betty Ann Dibble, 78, of Boise, Idaho, returned to her Heavenly Father on May 23, 2026. She is survived by her two sons, Brandon (Kristine) and Tyler (Bobbie); her five grandchildren: Cloe, Kendra, Hayden, Brock, and Makenna; her three brothers: Bill (Janna), David (Carmela), and Lynn (Valerie); her sister, Diane (Russ); and many nieces, great-nieces, nephews, and great-nephews. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Tara Ann; her parents, Dale and DaNell; and her husband, Terry.

Betty was born on August 1, 1947, to Dale and DaNell Worwood in Payson, Utah. She grew up in Nephi, Utah, and was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where she faithfully served in a number of callings throughout her life.

As a young woman, Betty participated in 4-H and especially enjoyed spending time with her family. During her high school years, she was a member of the twirling team and performed in competitions, parades, and at home football games. She graduated from Juab High School in Nephi, Utah, in 1965, and later attended LDS Business College in Salt Lake City, graduating at the top of her class in 1967.

Betty began her career working for the State of Utah. She met, dated, and married her soulmate, Terry Alfred Dibble, on September 28, 1968. In 1969, they made their home in Boise, Idaho. They were blessed with their first child, a daughter, Tara Ann Dibble, on December 3, 1972. Though Tara returned to her Heavenly Father too soon, she remained forever treasured as their precious angel. In 1974, Brandon was born, and in 1978, they welcomed Tyler. Betty loved raising her two active boys and faithfully attended their basketball, soccer, and baseball games. She also remained devoted to her Church service and women’s groups.

After relocating to Boise, Betty worked for the Idaho Department of Health and Welfare before joining the Idaho State Crime lab, a position she truly loved. There, she was responsible for receiving and cataloging evidence from criminal investigations. She also played a role in one of Idaho’s most well-known criminal cases, the Claud Dallas case. Her testimony regarding the evidence she processed helped secure a conviction.

In 1985, Betty made the decision to leave a job she loved in order to manage and care for the family business, T.A. Dibble Excavation. She became a key part of the company, overseeing every aspect of the operation with dedication and skill. Later, when the business became woman-owned, Betty proudly became a member of NAWIC.

Betty supported Terry in all of his athletic pursuits and traveled with him in his many endeavors. Together, they traveled throughout the western United States and into Canada for fastpitch softball, where Betty faithfully kept statistics and supported every player on the team. They were active members of Boise State BAA and held season tickets to Boise State football and basketball games. Their names can be found in the Hall of Fame building. Betty and Terry also provided summer work opportunities for many Boise State students, and T.A. Dibble Excavation contributed to construction on numerous projects in and around the Boise State stadium.

Above all, Betty was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She was a second mom to many and made every effort to attend her grandchildren’s events, games, and recitals. She will be remembered for her faith, her hard work, her steady support of those she loved, and the kindness she extended to everyone around her. Her legacy will live on in the lives of her family and all who were blessed to know her.

Funeral services will be held in her honor on Friday, June 5, 2026, at the Chinden LDS church, 6032 N. Five Mile Road, Boise ID. 83713.
