Bernice (Bunny) Remelius

Our dear wife and mother, Bernice (Bunny) Clara Remelius passed away on September 18, 2023 at the age of 89. She was born in St. Louis, Missouri on December 6, 1933 to Eugene and Bernice Neupert.

Bunny graduated high school from Incarnate Word located in St. Louis, Missouri where she then married Kenneth Remelius on November 15, 1952. Bunny had six children and raised them in St. Louis while also working with her husband in their family business. Upon retirement, Bunny and her husband moved to The Villages, Florida to enjoy their golden years. They stayed there six years before moving back to St. Louis, Missouri to be closer to family. For the last ten years, Bunny and her husband lived in Springfield, Missouri.

Bunny was a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who lived a faith- filled life as a Catholic.

She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, bowling, golfing, painting, traveling and crafting. She was very involved in her Church community where she was a Eucharistic Minister, Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion for local nursing homes, and a Bereavement Minister.

Bernice is survived by her husband Kenneth Remelius, daughters, Patricia Remelius, Barbara (John) Buhmann, daughter-in-laws, Mindy Stallman, Lu Werner, Michelle Davis, Glennda Remelius, 10 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, and close cousins. Bernice is proceeded in death by her parents Eugene and Bernice Neupert, sister Joan (Joseph) Larkin, son Stephen Remelius, son Kenneth Remelius Jr, son Thomas Remelius, son Edward Remelius, and granddaughter Isabella Vega.

To honor Bunny’s memory, we are holding a celebration of her life on Friday, October 6, 2023 at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, 2200 W Republic Rd, Springfield, MO 65807. Visitation will begin at 10:30 am with a Mass following at 11:30 am.
