Benjamin Nava, Jr

Benjamin Nava Jr., age 86 of Nampa, ID passed away peacefully on October 20, 2025.

Our Dad was born on September 10, 1939, in El Paso, Texas to Benjamin and Pascula Nava, growing up with four brothers and two sisters. He attended Delano High School where he loved playing baseball for the high school team. On September 2, 1961, he married Alice Castillo, the love of his life he could not live without. Shortly thereafter, they moved to Delano, California and lived next door to their best friends, Jesse and Eva Nava. After having two children, they decided to take a chance and move their family to Nampa, Idaho, a decision they never regretted.

A deep man of faith, he shared his testimony and faith with everyone around him. His life exemplified being a devoted husband, beloved father and grandfather, the best role model, mentor, supporter and teacher that anyone could have. He had a way of connecting with anyone he met and always had encouraging words, experiences and counsel to share. Working in his ministry at his local church as a Sunday School Superintendent, volunteering his help with church construction and any other church functions were the highlights of his life. He enjoyed playing golf, loved putting together jigsaw puzzles and doing word searches.

Dad, words cannot express how much you will be missed. We will carry your unwavering love, support and faith as we journey forward. Your legacy will pass onto our children and be shared with everyone we know, just as you did. Thank you for being a wonderful father, we were truly blessed to have you in our lives. Until we meet again one day soon, we will keep your smile, memories and love in our hearts forever.

Ben is survived by his wife Alice, his son Benny, daughter Lydia Sanchez, daughter in-law Junelle, son-in-law Richard, three grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held, 10:30 am, Friday, November 7, 2025 at Lakeview Church of the Nazarene, 608 14th Ave. N., Nampa, Idaho, followed by burial at Kohlerlawn Cemetery, 76 6th St., N., Nampa, Idaho.
