Arne Ralph Elmore was born March 5th, 1954, to his loving parents, Ralph and Oneida Elmore in Colombo, Sri Lanka. Arne started his life as the child of missionaries with Assemblies of God. From there Ralph, Oneida, Arne, and his sister Marva moved to Louisiana, and then a few years later returned to missions in the Fiji Islands. These early years formed in Arne a love for the nations, people, Island culture, and a life to love and serve the Lord.

At age twelve, Arne and his family returned to the States and lived in California. Later, at his dad’s church in 1972, Arne met his beloved wife, Sharon Walker, and married in 1974.

He studied university at Life Bible College and received a degree in Child Development at UCLA while they began to raise their young family. He was known for playing his guitar and singing worship on different campuses.

Arne and Sharon raised their four kids, Tonia, Jonathan, Daniel, and Stephanie in California. Arne began his painting business and served his family, friends, and church in many ways. In 1989 they were led by the Lord to join a Vineyard church plant from Lancaster, California to Boise Idaho. They, along with 12 other families, moved to an unknown city in obedience to the Lord. In Idaho, Arne and Sharon had their fifth child, Hannah. Arne continued his painting business where every client quickly became a friend and many of them were lifelong. He served as a children’s and youth minister at several congregations in Boise. Arne also led multiple camps and mission trips to foreign countries.

He leaves a legacy of love to many including his five kids, their spouses, and his 15 grandchildren, David, Emma, Sam, Caleb, Kaiden, Ryder, Tirzah, Ava, Reagan, Quinn, Isla, Athanasius, Bjørn, Jubilee Joy, and Gwyndolyn.

He is best known by his family and friends as a joyful servant and a friend to everyone. Arne would go to extremes to meet the needs of friends and strangers because he was deeply compelled to live a life like Jesus. It was Jesus, at the center of Arne’s life from a young age until his passing. His deepest love was for the Lord, and his greatest desire was for the lost to know Jesus as Lord and Savior.

For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes…”
