Anita Dee Thomas.

Anita Dee Thomas, 86, our beloved mother and grandmother, passed peacefully into the loving arms of Jesus on Friday, May 19 th , 2023, surrounded by family and her beloved dog, Chica. She was born in Twin Falls, Idaho, to Fred and Mildred Craner on April 2, 1937. She moved to Boise, Idaho when she was two years old and lived in Boise all her life. She graduated from Boise High School in 1955 and married the love of her life, Jack Thomas, on December 8, 1956. They had five children and they built and designed two houses, one on Wilson Street in Boise and another in the mountains of Robie Creek.

Anita’s family was her pride and joy. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She loved all people and her smile lit up the room. She loved hosting dinner parties and family events. Even in her last days, it brought her great joy to see her family growing and surrounding her with love. Days before she passed, she said, “My family is what I will miss the most.”

Anita loved music and sang for many years in the local group known as The Footnotes. She enjoyed outdoor patio dining and listening to music. Anita loved Jesus and wanted everyone to know that He was her source of hope and strength throughout her life. In her last years, she often said, “I’m just sitting in God’s waiting room, waiting for Him to call me in.” She was truly at peace and ready to meet her Savior.

Anita was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Mildred Craner; her husband, Jack Thomas; her daughter, Darcy Thomas; her sister, Betty McCabe, and two grandsons, Isaiah Thomas and Joshua Tomlinson. She is survived by her children, Charles (Linda) Thomas, Jim (Ruth) Thomas, Lorrie (Gary) Alvis, Jackson Thomas, 10 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandson.
