Alice Mae Hoskins, 84, of Nampa, ID passed away Tuesday August 20, 2019 at home after her struggle with Cancer.  She was born   December 6, 1934 in Covington, Tipton County, Tennessee to      Andrew Dunn and Eula E. Laster.  She married her sweetheart,   William D. Hoskins, July 27, 1951 in Pickett, Clay County,Arkansas.  They have been married for 68 years.

As a railroader’s (Union Pacific) wife, Alice lived the nomad’s life.  She lived in bunk cars with her family.  She lived in places like Kansas, Nebraska, Colorado, Wyoming and Idaho.  Alice had several jobs throughout her life and worked for companies like the US    Government, American Fine Foods, Ore-Ida Foods and as an apple picker in the Payette Orchards and was the fastest apple picker of all her co-workers.

She enjoyed many hobbies and collecting special items.  One of  her extensive collections was ceramic boots and salt and pepper shakers.  She loved Horse Racing, Camping, Shooting and walking.  She was an avid bowler.  William and Alice were on several bowling teams.  She loved quilting with her twin sister.  Her children have been recipients of some of these beautiful quilts.  Alice was involved in her community in Payette and was a member of the Lion’s Club.  She received many Lion club awards and was especially proud of receiving the Melvin Jones Award.  Alice was a lifelong Baptist and a member of the Central Valley Baptist Church with her husband.

She took great pride in her home and family.  She was preceded in death by her infant son, Ronnie D. Hoskins and her twin sister Doris M. Hoskins, her parents Andrew J. Dunn and Eula E. Laster, her brothers Victor Dunn and Andrew Jackson Jr. Dunn as well as her sisters Fannie S. Dunn, Margie Dunn, Elizabeth C. Dunn and Carol D. Dunn.  She is survived by her husband, William D. Hoskins, her children Kathy M. Paulsen, Billy D. Hoskins, Joyce A. Brock and Darron R. Hoskins.  She is also survived by many beloved grand and great grand-children.
