EVERSOLE, Alice, 83, of Boise ID, died September 21, 2024, at Cascadia of Boise Care Center.  A Memorial Service will be held at 10 am Saturday, October 12, 2024, at Bowman Funeral Parlor in Garden City, ID.

Alice was born Nov. 27, 1940, in Decatur, IL, the daughter of Glen and Marjorie Eversole.  She earned her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in education at Indiana Central College and Indiana University. Alice was an elementary teacher for Decatur Public Schools from 1962 until 1986.  In 1972 she and her friend Glenna Apsley founded Camp One Way in rural Christian County and ministered there until their retirement in 2018. Alice was the first one to receive God’s direction to build a Camp in Central Illinois, just a few weeks after she gave her life to Jesus in 1972. She was often the first to “see” when God gave new insight for growth over the 47 years she and Glenna remained on staff at Camp One Way (John 14:6) ministry. Her role, besides “director of fun,” was becoming a professional cook to feed multiple generations as Camp One Way evolved into a year-round refreshing place for getting to know and grow in Jesus. Each year the camp served around 1,000 campers.  Over the 47 years, it’s fair to say that more than 40,000 people went through the doors of the camp that Alice envisioned starting back in 1972!

Survivors include her sister-in-law Cheryl Eversole of Buffalo, MO, nieces, nephews and cousins in IL and other states, her friend and colleague Glenna Apsley of Boise ID, and the entire Apsley family.

Her brother Earl Leon and her parents preceded her in death.
