Obituary

Addie Fulfer passed away peacefully during her sleep in the early morning hours of May 4, 2026 at the age of 88 in Boise, Idaho. Addie was living at Grace Memory Care at the time of her passing. Addie was born at home in Dora, NM to Carrie and William Brumfield on March 16, 1938. She was number 9 of 10 kids growing up on the Brumfield farm. Addie frequently talked about growing up on the farm and having a large family. She dearly loved her brothers and sisters and she shared the names of her siblings with most people that she spent more than a couple of minutes talking to, Edith, Mary, Ruth, John, George, Frank, Alice, Jim, Addie, and Ray. She grew up working hard to help sustain the family’s “Grade A Dairy”.

Addie attended school in the Dora Consolidated Schools. It was a rural district that drew students from Portales, Floyd, Elida, Clovis, and Dora. In school, she enjoyed playing basketball and baseball as it was an activity she played at home with her brothers and sisters. After graduating from high school, Addie enrolled in college at Eastern New Mexico University and roomed with her best friend Edna Burroughs. Addie wanted to be a nurse and had been invited into nursing school. While living in Portales, NM with her roommate, Addie had a chance encounter with a dashing young Airman named Jerry Fulfer who was stationed at nearby Walker AFB in Roswell, NM. She reported that Curley ran off all the other boys that were interested in her, and then proposed to her. After their marriage in April of 1958, Jerry and Addie moved back to Boise to care for his dying mother. Addie worked as a nurse’s aide in the maternity ward at St. Luke’s which she thoroughly enjoyed. Addie had a variety of jobs over the years including working at District 7 Health Dept in Idaho Falls and selling Avon. The job she loved the most however was being a mother and raising her 3 boys. In 1967, the family moved to Idaho Falls for Jerry’s job with the Burroughs Corporation. The family lived in Idaho Falls until 1981 before moving to Oregon then Texas, and finally to Kennewick, WA in 1983 until Jerry retired from Hanford in 1995.

During the beginning of their retirement, they lived full-time in their RV. They spent winters mainly in Arizona, California, and Nevada rotating between RV resorts. They reconnected with old friends and made many new friends. They both enjoyed the activities in the parks as well as staying busy hunting arrowheads, gemstones, and looking for gold with their metal detectors. After years on the road, they sold the 5th wheel and returned to live in Boise full time in 2011 in order to be closer to family and friends. They purchased a park model trailer and lived in Shenandoah Estates where they loved putting down roots again, Addie planted flowers, and they enjoyed meeting new friends and neighbors in this new phase of life.

Addie is survived by her brother George, sister-in-law Jeannie Fulfer of Garden Valley, ID; son Clay and wife Erika Fulfer of Boise, grandson son Kai Fulfer; son Clint and wife Renee of Kennewick, WA, granddaughter Katy and husband Tony Molina, great granddaughters Addie Mae and Millie Jo, grandson Chase Fulfer and fiancée Joanna Koulis, great grandsons Onyx and Killian; and youngest son Gary and wife Tamera Fulfer of Sagle, ID. Addie is proceeded in death by her parents William and Carrie Brumfield, her siblings Edith, Mary, Ruth, John, Frank, Alice, Jim and Ray, and grandson Max Fulfer.

Jerry and Addie were both long time members of the Linder Road Church of Christ. The family wishes to express their gratitude to the church for their loving support during this difficult time. A visitation will be held on Friday, May 15, 2026 from 5:00 - 7:00 pm, with a funeral service to be held on Saturday, May 16, 2026 at 11:00 am at Bowman Funeral located at 10254 W.
