Roy Keller was born on March 25, 1933 to Jacob and Florence Keller, 18 minutes after his twin sister, Sue. He attended schools in Star and Middleton.
He married Darlene Enzminger in 1957. They had two daughters, Linda Mae and Susan Kay. In 1965 Darlene was killed in a one car rollover. He later married Roberta Rice and became stepfather to four more children. Susan, Beverly, James and Brady.
Roy worked for several local farmers, Roy Stevens, Warren Vanduesan, Kenneth Lower, Frank Ellensohn and Art Hadley at Hadley’s Hardware until it burned down. At age 22, he went into business and bought his first truck. He worked around the valley hauling agricultural commodities, until 1999. He sold his farm and trucks and moved to Garden Valley.
He was a member of Star Friends Church and Crouch Community Church.
In 2005 he moved back to Star, due to ill health.
He loved the wildlife around and fed birds everywhere he went. His favorite things to do were trips to the Oregon Coast and weekends on his Cascade Lake property.
He is survived by three nieces and one nephew Nancy Waner, Carol Arnzen (Gordon) Sheryl Kenna (Rick), Don Warf (Martha) two daughters Linda Skeary and Susan Schmidt (Karl) four stepchildren Susan Todd, Beverly Rice, James Rice and Brady Rice, two granddaughters, Sabrina Rettinger (Terry) and Shana (Chris) Rivers, three great grandsons, Chase, Tye, Riley Rettinger and one step grandson, David Akers.
