Myron (Mike) Lee Kauffman
Mike Kauffman passed away peacefully at home Sunday March 3rd, 2019, surrounded by his loving wife Barbara, family, and loving prayers.
Mike lived a full life traveling many beautiful places, enjoying going on cruises, skiing, hunting, boating and loved watching Nascar.
He had the talent of vision building homes in several states; Arizona, California, Oregon and Idaho. The homes he built were spectacular, every detail precise and to perfection. While in Fort Bragg, California he built a smoke house business. Perfecting smoked meats and sausages that were delicious. That wasn’t all, the idea of a winery was another adventure he built “The Winery At Eagle Knoll” in 2000 in Eagle, Idaho. The doors opened and welcome to everyone to come and enjoy wine tastings, a large selection of wines, live concerts, weddings and great food. The dreams and visions never stopped. After the winery Mike and Barbara went back to building homes, his greatest passion. He considered home building his art in many ways, for families to grow and enjoy. Barbara and I built our home to enjoy life. Our home was built on a hill for my wife and I to enjoy the view, surrounding wildlife, clear breezes, the sunrises over the mountain in the morning, and the moon rising over the mountain in the evening, making us feel close to God and nature. We enjoyed our standard poodle Jene’, she made us smile, laugh, and always a kiss goodnight and “I love you”. “I had a good life, I lived”.
Mike is survived by his wife Barbara, blended family with 2 sons Gregory Olson, Chip Kauffman, 4 Daughters, Julie Olson Powell (Mark), Teresa Jan Olson Tiede (Scott), Kapi Rauna (Joel), Stephanie Olson Wells (Josh), 10 Grandchildren, and 5 great grandchildren, 4 sisters, Jeannie Hershey (Lyn), Donna Miller, his twin sister Marian Miller (Dennis) and Shar Yordy (Gary). Mike was preceded in death by his parents George and Pearl Kauffman.
A Celebration of Life will be held on June 1, 2019 at 2:00 pm at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saint located at 2090 N. Eagle Road Eagle, Idaho
