Milton David Kelm, 94, a resident of Horseshoe Bend, passed away July 28, 2017 in Horseshoe Bend.
Milton “Johnny” Kelm was born in Littlefield, Texas, to Richard A. and Ida B. Mass Kelm.
He married Naomi Ruby Block in Clovis, New Mexico on July 6, 1947. They just celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary.
Johnny served in WWII in Europe in the Air Force, where he flew 30 missions as a tail gunner in a B-17, and was shot down twice over occupied France. He also served in the Korean War, and was stationed state side. He then worked as a lineman for Portland General Electric until his retirement at age 59 in Portland, Oregon.
He moved from Oregon to Horseshoe Bend, Idaho in 2013.
Johnny loved to hunt and raise racing thoroughbred horses.
He was a devoted member of the Lutheran Church.
Johnny was the last of 9 brothers and sisters.
He is survived by his loving wife, Naomi Ruby Kelm; 1 daughter, Dardrah Mitchell; and 1 son, David Kelm.
A graveside service will be held at 10:00 am, on Tuesday, August 8, 2017 at the Idaho State Veterans Cemetery in Boise with Pastor Keith Reeder.
