Judy was an “Army Brat” and spent the first few years of her life being raised by her mother while her father was away during WWII. After the war Judy and her family moved with her father’s military transfers to several state side bases and also Germany and Japan. She graduated from The Dalles High School in the Dalles, OR. in 1961. After graduation she attended Marylhurst College in OR. She spent the majority of her adult life in Spokane, WA. She married Terry Lanterman in 1967 and had her only child Corey (son) in 1969. Judy and Terry divorced in 1971. She was married to Robert Putnam from 1972 to 1980. In 1987 she met the love of her life Wayne “Dick” Smith. The two married in 1991. Dick and Judy shared a love of the Oregon Coast and would spend all of their free time at their condo in Neskowin. They also shared a love of art and collected many pieces while visiting the galleries along the coast. In 1993 they followed their passion and quit their jobs in Spokane and purchased the Harbor Gallery in Depoe Bay, OR. Judy’s friendly attitude and warm smile won over customers and artists alike. The gallery flourished. In 2001, they sold the business to move back to Spokane to be closer Judy’s parents and their grandchildren. She went back to her previous job at Rockwood Retirement Community where she worked until she retired in 2015. She was also a very active parishioner at her beloved Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church. Judy was preceded in death by parents, Howard and Ann, her step-son, Kevin, and her husband, Dick. She had a way of always making you feel special when you were with her. She always put others needs ahead of her own. All that knew her will miss her tremendously.
