Margaret G. (Tuning) Parsons, 96, of Boise, Idaho, passed away July 6, 2018.
A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held Monday, July 16, 2018, 2:00 p.m., Bowman Funeral Parlor, 10254 W. Carlton Bay Drive, Garden City, Idaho.
Margaret was born December 27, 1921, to James and Emma Tuning, Parma, Idaho, where she lived and graduated from Roswell High School. She married Paul J. Parsons September 15, 1940, at Caldwell, Idaho. They moved to Hines, Oregon in 1941 where Paul worked at Edward Hines Lumber Co. until 1945, at which time they came home to the Boise area. Paul was employed by Idaho Power Co. and in 1958 was transferred to Mountain Home, Idaho. Margaret held a position at the local bank and then was employed by the Physicians Clinic. She and Paul continued to raise their family there until they were transferred once again back home to Boise.
Margaret enjoyed her work processing medical insurance claims at Mountain View Medical Center and The Woman’s Clinic until she retired along with Paul in 1980. Their retirement years were filled with trips in their travel trailer to the Oregon Coast, many national parks (their favorite being Yellowstone), and winters in Apache Junction, Arizona, where they made numerous life-long friends. They both loved travel and photography, which resulted in an abundance of photo albums.
As faithful members of the Church of the Nazarene, they continued their church activities. They enjoyed music and spending time with family. Margaret’s greatest gifts were her faithful prayers and encouraging notes and cards written to all those she loved. Even her last few days, she lay in bed praying for each person and softly singing hymns.
