Loraine Gallegos passed away peacefully at home in Garden City Idaho, on October 6, 2018. She was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great great grandmother.
She was born on April 3, 1932, to Modesto and Helen Trujillo in Colorado (the eldest of 7), where she attended school and lived. She married the Love of her life, Roy Gallegos in 1949 until his passing in 2004 – 55 wonderful years. They lived in Colorado and Wyoming and finally moved to Idaho in 1959.
Her ultimate joy was loving her family and always being with her husband. She loved Bingo, playing any and every card game there was. 31, nerds, phase 10, aggravation and the list can go on. You could always expect to walk in to the house and if it was empty or at least quiet you could find her reading one of her books or cooking her family’s favorite foods – beans, tortillas, bubble bread and chile. She loved watching her favorite team, the Denver Broncos after mass on Sunday. If the other team hurt one of “her Broncos” you can bet they would hear about it even if she was yelling through the tv. She also loved the holidays and family gatherings that they would bring.
Loraine was our family matriarch, and the epitome of strength and virtue! Our beautiful strong mother, sister, grandmother and friend has left us here on Earth to be with the love of her life Roy Gallegos and her son Jerry Gallegos. After the passing of her Husband she could never get over the loss. and always had a heavy heart as a huge piece of her was gone. After he left she preferred to stay home where she felt closer to him. She passed away peacefully at her home and through the end she was cared for by her daughter Jackie Flores and son Chris Gallegos.
Go on long walks, gamble for as long as you want, laugh and dance forever in your loves’ arms, fish with your son and have so much fun with your sister. We are so hurt and so sad that you are gone yet we are at peace that you are right where you belong, Loraine was preceded in death by her beloved husband Roy, her son Jerry Gallegos, her parents Modesto and Helen, her sister Suzy Garcia, brothers Ernie and Dennis Trujillo and 2 grandchildren Jaime and Jeremy.
She is survived by her five children and their families— Judy (Bob) Button, Jackie (Bob) Flores, Valery Gallegos, Vicki (Daniel) Monroe, Chris (Michelle) Gallegos. She also has 21 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren.
