Laura Alice Lounsbury

December 3, 1921 ~ May 13, 2019 (age 97)

Laura Alice Lounsbury — Angels surrounded our mom as she went to be with Jesus. Laura Alice Lounsbury was born December 3, 1921 Bancroft Idaho to Floyd Isaac Grace and Mae Aston Grace. Laura married Floyd Harvey Lounsbury December 4, 1937. The couple had three girls, Eva June, Shirley May and Joyce Ann.

“Harvey worked for the Union Pacific Railroad, so they moved a few times in the early years, living in Minidoka, Glenn’s Ferry, Rupert, and finally settled Payette Idaho. Laura kept busy being a mother and wife maintaining a loving home and entertaining friends. She was a diligent seamstress and cook. She loved gardening, canning much of the produce.

Mom was a member of Eastern Stars and United Methodist Church.

Finding herself with a “ empty nest”, she worked for the county clerks office and First Security Bank in Payette.

After moving to Boise Idaho mom, being an adventurous and self improving woman she was, took a real estate course, dancing and learned to swim.

She traveled as a bank examiner retiring to child care and became a foster grandmother in the public school system until failing health caused her to leave the love of her life, THE CHILDREN. Life filled her with loving grandchildren, many great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. “ GRANDMA LAURA”

Laura was preceded in death by her parents, sister Frieda Moncur, brother Don Grace, Infant daughter Joyce, & grand daughter, Darlene, great grandsons, Trevor Skaret, and Zachary Ingersoll. She is survived by her daughters Eva Strange(Bill) , Shirley Alsup( Steve). grandchildren, Kris Cools(Mark),Garth Evans( Dawn,BIll(John) Strange(Susan),Kellie Grieser (Dave), Karma Keys, Paula Skaret,Tucker Evans,and Kyle Petross. Numerous great & great great grand grandchildren. Nephew, Dean Moncur( Stephanie),nieces, Joy Patterson (Roger),Charlene Tanaka(Carl),Angela Isheyana(Ian),Pamela Simcoe, and Patricia Grace. We will all miss you soooo much mom.  A funeral service will be held on Friday, May 17, 2019 at 2:30 pm at Bowman Funeral Parlor located at  10254 W. Carlton Bay Garden City, Idaho 83714.  In lieu of flowers please give a hug.
