Kathryn JoAnn Webster

February 18, 1935 ~ July 10, 2018 (age 83)

Kathryn JoAnn Webster, 83, of Eagle, Idaho, returned to her heavenly Father on July 10, 2018. She passed away at home following a short battle with ovarian cancer.

Funeral services will be held at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 5009 W. Cassia Street, Boise, Idaho, on Monday, July 16, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. with committal following at Dry Creek Cemetery.

JoAnn was born in Russell, Kansas, and moved to Enterprise, Oregon, in middle school. She graduated from Enterprise High School and earned a bachelor of science degree in education from Eastern Oregon University in LaGrande, Oregon. JoAnn took her first teaching position at Park Rose Elementary School in Portland, Oregon. She moved to Anchorage, Alaska, where she taught 6th grade for nine years at Lake Otis Elementary School and earned a Master of Library Science degree from Alaska Methodist University.

She met her husband of 43 years, James Webster, in Alaska, and together they started a plumbing and heating contracting business. In 1978, they moved their young family to Summerville, Oregon, where they spent the next 20 wonderful years raising their children on a farm.

In 1998, James and JoAnn moved to Eagle, Idaho, where James passed away in 2004. JoAnn spent the last 20 years raising her grandchildren, pursuing her love of gardening and serving as an active participant in her church.

A loving wife and devoted mother, JoAnn is survived by her children and their families: Jim and Gita Webster of Pendleton, OR, Rachelle and Joel Gilliland of Kennewick, WA, Jackie and Luke Basile of Kennewick, WA; Janene and Rusty Dodge and Ellie and James McNeal of Eagle, ID; Julie, Carl, Paige and Madeleine Beckwith of Birmingham, AL; and her brother, Irving Nuss of Portland, OR.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 5009 W. Cassia Street, Boise, ID 83705.
