God brought Joyce Adele Getz to Heaven Monday November 11, 2019. Joyce passed away at home in the loving care of her daughter and son-in-law.
Joyce will be remembered for her light and lively spirit. Her smile was contagious and her eyes would always brighten when anyone walked into her presence.
Joyce was born on her parent's farm in Tekoa, Washington. She grew up in Spangle and Rosalia, Washington and graduated in a class of nineteen from Spangle High School, where she was a princess during her junior year. The motto was, "The prettiest choice is Joyce." Joyce and Reuben were married in 1950 and moved to Portland, Oregon. They enjoyed boating and later built a house, Joyce' favorite home, at Port Ludlow, Washington. They enjoyed Sun Valley and later moved there. There she was very active through the summers and winters. She and her friends traversed many miles on their cross-country skis, on foot, hiking, and biking. Some of her fondest memories were on the many trails near Sun Valley with her dearest friends.
Joyce was married to Reuben for nearly sixty years and together they traveled to many beautiful locations around the world.
Joyce is survived and missed by her two children Lori and Stanley, four grand-children, Megan, Tyler, Chloe and Daniel, and two great-grand-children, Berklee and Ryker. She will also be missed by her many friends.
Asking Joyce about her life always provided the same response. She would say that she had had a great life and felt wonderfully blessed to have been married to her loving husband, Reuben. Now she and Reuben are relaxing and smiling as they enjoy listening and dancing to music from the Big Band era in their eternal home.
