On November 12, 2019, Daniel (Dan) Martin Goebel, 88 of Boise, ID passed away after succumbing to Alzheimer’s Disease the last years of his life.
Dan was born into and worked on the family farm in Minot, North Dakota until he was drafted into the US Marines during the Korean Conflict. Serving 2 years, he returned home where he met and married the love of his life, Caroline. Two years after being married and having the first of four children, Dan and Caroline decided to head west to California in search of a better life and lived there for 30 years.
Dan worked in the printing industry throughout the years. He was instrumental in producing the tickets for the 1984 Olympics held in Los Angeles, CA. He continued his career printing travelers checks for the financial industry.
Dan instilled a wonderful sense of work/life balance in his family. He worked hard during the week, sometimes two jobs at a time to provide for his family, and enjoyed camping on the weekends and summer road trips.During his free time, Dan enjoyed hobbies consisting of following
NASCAR, Lakers basketball and touring the country on his motorcycle. His most cherished experience was driving from Mexico, through the western United States and ending in Canada then returning home. He enjoyed personally maintaining his vehicles and was known to bring his motorcycle in the house to detail it during the winter, much to the chagrin of his wife.
Dan was a wonderful husband, father, papa, brother, uncle and friend to many. He was deeply loved by all and would want us to celebrate and remember the joy he brought and shared with everyone he met.
Dan is survived by Caroline, his wife of 61 years, his four children Rhonda, Marcia, Wayne, Waylon, 6 grand children, his constant companions Fritz and Tater, sister Dorothy, numerous nieces, nephews, and countless friends.
