Michelle Faye "Moss" Christiansen 44, passed away Saturday, September 2nd, 2017 surrounded by family after a lengthy illness.
Michelle was born September 18th, 1972 in San Diego, California to Stan and Debbie Bassett. They divorced when Michelle was age 3. From a very young age Michelle spent a lot of time with her grandparents, Delbert & Diana "Annie" Rose. She had a very special relationship with them and spent almost every weekend with them until her teen years. Including many vacations with them in Portland, North Dakota and Alaska. At age 4 she gained a step father Steve Moss. At age 6 she gained a new baby sister, Stephanie. In kindergarten Michelle changed her last name herself to Michelle Moss. From then on she had the nickname by many of her friends as "Moss".
Michelle went to Mary McPherson Elementary, Linder Elementary, Meridian Middle School, and graduated from Meridian High School in 1991. She went to BSU for a short time. Michelle was voted best dressed and best car her senior year in high school.
Michelle married Pete Reed in 1991 in which she had many adventures. They later divorced and she then lived with her best friends, Shari, Danielle and Tisha. She loved her life adventures. Going out with her friends dancing, driving to the lake with her jet ski, snow skiing at Bogus Basin, Brundage and Sun Valley and later she learned to play golf. She loved attending BSU football games and especially tailgating.
In January 2001 Michelle married Brian Christiansen. They had many adventures and they had a beautiful home in Nampa, Idaho that she loved. Brian and Michelle took a trip every summer to beautiful places in Mexico, and Belize. Brian later divorced her after the difficulty with her disability.
Michelle was so excited to decorate and celebrate for every holiday, especially Christmas and Halloween. She always looked forward to Semele's Halloween party every year and finding the perfect costume.
Michelle loved to work and had many jobs over her years. She worked at Dr. Charles Howarth's Ophthalmology office in the summers, Fred Myer's Jewelry and Express at the Boise Towne Square, Bon Marche Furniture downtown Boise, and Chili's on Broadway. She attended dental assisting school then worked for Dr. Bingham DDS, and Mountain Land Rehab was her last job until she was put on disability and unable to work.
In 1995 she gained a step father, Kelly Newman and 5 step sisters Korey, Jayme, Krystal, KayDee and Kimberly. Kelly was involved in racing and she loved to attend these events. Kelly really took her under his wing. Michelle was included in many racing events which brought her so much joy. Another highlight was riding on Joe Scott's plane when she had the opportunity to go watch Joe and Brian Scott race in Washington at Skagit Speedway. For 20+ years she called him Kelly Newman or "Dude". She was always glad to see Kelly. He got to help with many of Michelle's moves including moving her in with him and her mom For 7 years until moving her in with her grandma "Annie" for the last year of her life where her mom, Annie and Stephanie took care of her.
Michelle was a friend to all and never disliked anyone. She especially Loved her friends Shari, Danielle, Tisha, Kris, Codi, Emily, Christy, Nancy, Semele, Ann, and Bev Just to name a few. Most of all she loved her nephews Isaiah and Elijah and niece Oliviah Michelle Fisher. They were as close as she came to having kids. She often called them her kids. Michelle loved going to all their events as they grew up. She never missed a football, basketball game or a dance performance.
Michelle's trademark was calling everyone "Dude". She was our little material girl, she loved clothes, shoes, jewelry, accessories and of course her numerous cars she owned. We often laughed at how many cars she had over the years. Too many to count.
Michelle had five difficult years with the loss of driving her car, her husband, her own place, her dog and her grandpa. Michelle's last five years she was very appreciative for everything and always would say "fine dude". She enjoyed going to church at Capital Christian Center with her Annie for many years.
