Mabel L. WrightAugust 26, 1928 ~ August 24, 2017 (age 88)
Mabel Loraine Wright passed away August 24, 2017 in Boise, Idaho. She was born on August 26, 1928 to Charles and Susan Haynes in Star, Idaho. She was the youngest of seven children. The family moved to Caldwell where Mabel graduated high school in 1946. After high school she worked as a secretary for an attorney in Caldwell.
Mabel married Dale Tuttle in May of 1949 and it was a double wedding with her sister June. Sadly, less than a year later Dale died unexpectedly. Some months later Mabel was introduced to George Wright and they married on June 17, 1950.
Not long after, they moved to Southern California and there they had three children. They were active members of the Church of Christ in Huntington Beach, California where they made many life-long friends. In 1969 George purchased the welding business in Wilder, Idaho and moved the family there.
They soon opened their hearts and home for foster care and eventually adopted their fourth child, Christine Joy.
Mabel was a wonderful wife, mother, and home-maker. She was a Sunday school teacher, a cake decorator, an oil painter, and musician. One of Mabel’s greatest joys was cooking and entertaining in her home. Most importantly she loved God and lived her life to please Him. If you knew Mabel she undoubtedly touched your heart.
She was preceded in death by her husband George and five siblings (Allen, Emma, Hazel, Edwin, and Anna). She is survived by her sister June Shaner, daughters Anita L. Lyngar, L. Chris Guthrie, Chris J. Moss, and son Allen E. Wright, ten grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
