James "J.D." Donald MarkerSeptember 14, 1931 ~ January 9, 2018 (age 86)
James Donald Marker, “J.D.” to most everybody, was born in Missoula, Montana in 1931, to Viola Shaub and Earl Marker. Raised in Mackey, J.D. played football and basketball for Mackey High. He attended Boise Junior College and joined the National Guard. In 1950, J.D. married Naida Ramsey and began his 30-year career with Mountain Bell telephone company starting as a lineman and quickly becoming an engineer. Their first child, Steve, was born in Boise and two years later Brian rolled along in Pueblo, Colorado. A year after that, Debbie was born in Denver. In 1960 the family was transferred to Idaho Falls and after retiring J.D. and Naida moved to Mackey. In 1984, they completed the circle by moving back to Boise. J.D. enjoyed family vacations, camping, fishing, golf, bowling and pulling happy water-skiers behind his boat. A responsible and honest man, J.D. was a very good family provider and a rock in times of crisis. He is survived by sons Steve and Brian, daughter-in-law, Pauline, daughter Debbie Marker, grandchildren James (J.C.) and Brian Jr., grand daughter-in-law, Gena, great grandchildren Josephine, Augustus and Cole Henry, sisters Sandy Chirumblo, Sandy Gould, Linda Simer, Denice Funderberg and brother Dennis Shaub. Memorial service will be at Bowman’s Funeral Home located at 10254 W. Carlton Bay Dr., Garden City, Tuesday, January 16th, at 2:00 pm.
