James Lee Penn

 James Lee Penn, 87, a resident of Glenns Ferry, passed away October 2, 2017 in Boise, Idaho.

 James was born in Bottineau, North Dakota on June 17, 1930.  He was born to Mable Foster Penn and Lee Penn.

 Jim spent a large amount of his childhood living with his grandparents (The Fosters and their son Robert.)

 After high school, Jim enlisted in the United States Air Force.  He spent most of his time in Rapid City, South Dakota.

 In 1956, Jim married Norma Scott.  They had 2 children, Justin, born in Bottineau, North Dakota and Laurie, born in Miles City, Montana.

 Jim worked as city policeman in Bottineau while he was attending the School of Forestry.  After that he worked for farm equipment dealers.

 He graduated to heavy equipment and worked for Western States Equipment, the local Caterpillar dealer in Boise, Idaho.

 After he retired, they moved to Glenns Ferry, Idaho.  Jim loved working in his garage on anything.  He did carpentry work along with his mechanic work.

 He is very missed by his family.

 He has 4 grandchildren, and 5 great-grandchildren.

 A graveside service with military honors will be held at 1:00 pm, on Wednesday, October 11, 2017 at the Idaho State Veterans Cemetery in Boise.

 Arrangements are under the direction of Bowman Funeral Parlor of Garden City.
