Hubert Randal “Randy” Sulfridge

Hubert Randal "Randy" Sulfridge, 64, of Meridian died on May 18, 2017. His lifespan far exceeded the expectations of numerous doctors.

Randy was born in Virginia on June 4, 1952. His military family moved often, and his favorite places to live were Misawa, Japan and Mtn. Home, Idaho.

He graduated from Capital High School where he met Barb Hansen, his wife of 45 years. They raised their daughters in Mtn. Home.

Randy was an instructor in the Marine Corps and worked for the Forest Service before being diagnosed with cancer in 1978. His illness prevented him from working; however, he found great joy in loving God and his family. Randy lived life to the fullest and viewed each day as a gift.

He was a lifelong learner who could defeat anyone at Jeopardy! and Trivial Pursuit. He enjoyed music, history, and traveling and was an avid Boise State football fan. Randy loved the outdoors, especially the mountains of Idaho and lived in Lowman for most of the last decade. He had a great sense of humor and kept everyone laughing even in his last few hours.

Survivors include his wife, Barb Sulfridge, of Meridian; two daughters, Heather and husband Mike Luchte of Boise and Virginia and husband Jim Imlah of Oak Harbor, WA. His grandchildren include Trinity and Reagan Luchte and Randal and Alden Imlah. He is also survived by his parents H. Ray and Margaret Sulfridge and sister, Donna Sulfridge, of Mtn. Home.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Steve, in 1999.

A celebration of life will be held in Boise at Castle Hills Church of the Nazarene on Saturday, May 27th at 11 am. Memorial donations may be made to Mission Aviation Fellowship of Nampa or the building fund of Rockharbor Church Meridian.
