Emily Kathleen Perry

September 6, 1931 ~ February 28, 2018 (age 86)

Our beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother Emily Kathleen Dilworth Perry passed away peacefully on February 28, 2018 at the age of 86 in Meridian, Idaho.

Kathleen was born September 6, 1931 in Hailey, Idaho along with her twin brother Kay to parents Sarah Tueller Davis and William Frederick Dilworth.

Kathleen spent her early years in Carey and Challis, Idaho during the difficult times of the depression. During the summers, the family lived in a tent along a river in order to be with their father who would take various employment in order to provide for the family. Because she was the oldest, she developed her motherly and service oriented traits early in life.

The Dilworth family moved to Montana in 1942.  Kathleen graduated from Charlo High School.  It was here that she met Heber James Perry (Jim) and they were married in the Idaho Falls temple on December 15, 1948. The next 22 years were spent farming in Charlo and welcoming nine children into their home. Kathleen was a hard worker, caring for their children and helping out on the farm.

Jim and Kathleen moved their family to Emmett, Idaho in 1970. She continued to nurture her children, work on the farm and was employed occasionally in part-time and seasonal work. Kathleen was always active and ambitious and she enjoyed being around people.

Later in life, she and Jim lived for a few years near Escondido, California as caretakers of a ranch home. In addition to her duties there, Kathleen found time to become a real estate agent and had other part-time employment.

She and Jim moved back to Boise in 1991 where she continued her work as a real estate agent and it was in Boise and Meridian that she spent the remainder of her life.

Kathleen was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and it was in Charlo that she began her service in the church by teaching primary at age 13. She served in many other callings in the church throughout her life, including Ward Relief Society President.  She found joy in life, through music, loving and serving family, friends and anyone she met.  She was a friend to all.

She is preceded in death by her husband Jim, a sister Marilyn, two brothers Kay and Lyle, a son Tom and a granddaughter Jessica. She is survived by her sisters Sarann, Joyce and Emma, nine children:  Ted Perry, Deborah (Dennis) Fuhrmann , Joe (Winnell) Perry, Tim (Carol) Perry, Bill (Robbyn) Perry, Marilyn Perry, Mike (Tami) Perry, Tammy (Brian) Farnsworth, and Todd (Nancy) Perry, 35 grandchildren,  66 great grandchildren and 1 great-great  grandchild.
