Dallas Lynn Flisher

June 6, 1945 ~ September 2, 2017 (age 72)

Dallas Lynn Flisher, 72, of Boise, Idaho, passed away peacefully on Sept. 2, 2017. Dallas was born June 6, 1945 to Paul and Elma (Roth) Flisher in Nampa, Idaho where he attended Lakeview Elementary, Central Jr. High, and Nampa High School, graduating in 1963. After graduation, Dallas attended Treasure Valley Community College and University of LaVerne in LaVerne, California, where he received a BA in Physical Education. He taught PE and coached baseball at Don Antonio Lugo High School in Chino, CA for 10 years. In 1978, he returned to Nampa where he taught PE at South Middle School and East Valley Middle School for 32 years. During that time he also coached baseball for Nampa High School, and softball at Skyview High School before retiring from coaching and teaching in 2010.

Dallas married Joyce Rousseau in 1968, and they had two children, Jodi Leigh and John Paul (Jay). Dallas and Joyce later divorced. While teaching at South, he met Debbie Reidhaar and they married in 2002. Stepsons Tyler and Brandon welcomed Dallas into the family and they developed a close bond over the years.

Dallas’s passion was his family, golf, baseball, hunting, fishing, and football. He especially loved to watch the BSU Broncos and the Miami Dolphins play. He spent many, many hours on Purple Sage Golf Course and could be found there every summer morning by 6:00 AM.  He enjoyed the mountains of Idaho during hunting and fishing season and always looked forward to that time of year. Unfortunately, health problems prohibited Dallas from enjoying these pleasures in more recent years.

Dallas is survived by his wife Debbie, daughter Jodi, Atlanta, GA; son Jay (Rebecca), Wilmington, NC; stepsons, Tyler and Brandon (Rachel) Boise; sisters Paula (Vince) Warrenton, OR and Louanna (Bill) Aurora, OR; grandchildren Shelby, Andrew, Chase Carlson; Julia, Paul Flisher; Rylee, Kyler, Norah Reidhaar; and dear friends George and Linda Pascua.

A Celebration of Life gathering will be held at 3:00 PM on Friday, September 8, 2017 at Bowman Funeral Home, 10254 W. Carlton Bay Dr., Boise, ID.
